The Queen's Arms - new gastropub in hammersmith
The original pub of this name on the site has been blitzed, knocked down and reduced to rubble. Risen from the ashes is a building using the architects behind Wagamamas with a roof that opens right up for ample ventilation and an al fresco experience in summer. Independently owned by Tim Brown and Jon Bird, proprietors of the successful Freemasons pub in Battersea, the venue occupies two floors - the downstairs containing a bar, sofas and seating area with an informal vibe, while a balcony section upstairs allows for smoke free drinking and a more formal dining area in a sophisticated setting(there is also the kitchen and an office upstairs).
The overwhelming offering at the Queens Arm's is that of an original gastropub; a friendly and relaxed atmosphere with excellent food and wine on offer plus access to sport for big match fixtures via wall mounted plasma screens. corner location.
Ex Ivy and J. Sheekys chef Paul Foster has taken charge of the kitchen and the venue offers a full range of bar snacks, as well as high quality a la carte style dining. Menus are changed monthly and fresh, seasonal produce is used in all dishes. There is also an exceptional wine list with over 70 wines to choose from.
