Milk and Honey review by Sam

This bar seems to attract pretty mixed opinions. I've been a few times as a non-member for drinks early evening before heading on elsewhere. Cocktails are extremely well made (one of the best, coldest and driest Martinis I've had anywhere with a great choice of vodkas and gins). Prices are also very reasonable and cheaper than far worse cocktail bars.

The atmosphere is a slightly strange one. Staff are courteous, quiet and professional; service is slow (I'm sorry, but 20 minutes to wait for four cocktails when the bar is half empty really is very slow even if the cocktails are great); the lighting really is incredibly low and the swing/ jazz music subdued. The place walks a very fine line between a wonderfully retro speak-easy and a haven from the swarming bedlam of Soho and a smug self-congratulatory little cocktail bar which loves itself a bit too much. I suspect this is why reviews are a bit all over the place.

Personally, maybe because I'm getting old, I like it purely because you get a place to sit and talk and drink great cocktails if you can be bothered to book in advance.
