Friends have been one of my favourite Italian restaurants in London for several years. I've always enjoyed the food and its pleasant atmosphere. However, we went there last night and the experience was disappointing. The quality of the food was still good, but we found the lack of service frustrating. I had to remind our waitress about our drink order several times. When our mains (finally) started to arrive, it took 10 mins until everybody's main course had been served.
I've not seen the manager before, and don't know if this was a temporary change. The waitresses were running back and forth, but seemed to be too busy to pay any attention to the guests. At one point, two of them were arguing. It was almost comical.
I would like to give Friends another chance, but next time I will expect the service to have improved.
