The Wapping Project review by Tazz

Went to this restaurant with high expectations given some of the other reviews. The venue - an old power station - was indeed unusual. It is also an art exhibition space and you are free to wander around to have a look at the artworks between courses - athough service of our courses was so prompt that we barely had a chance to do so.

The food though did not live up to the venue. A starter of watercress salad with pickled anchovy and soft boiled egg was pleasant enough, though not as interesting as hoped from the interesting list of ingredients. A main of roast Middle White pork with morcilla and chick peas was a very generous serving, but again disappointed - very tough, and the chick peas had little texture and probably came out of a tin.

Altogether, a bit of a letdown given the great venue and what looked like an interesting menu.
