Roussillon Restaurant review by David Henderson

Our first visit at lunch today. First thing is to say that £35 for three courses including a half bottle of wine and coffee/petits fours is a bargain. Throw in the little morsels they drop in unexpectedly and you really do wonder how they do it. There's a decent choice on the prix fixe menu and the service is pretty good if perhaps a little serious. Everything we ate was well presented, the included wines (you get a choice of reds& whites) were thoroughly sound.

The food in my opinion is better than OK but certainly not of the quality and intensity that you'd find at restaurants like Gordon Ramsay or Tom Aikens. But its still a whole lot better than a lot of places that charge as much or more. and I imagine we'll be back. My wife enjoyed her broad bean soup and pork fillet a bit more than i found my risotto of girolles ( a bit cheesy and greasy, so the taste of the mushrooms didn't really emerge.) and honey roast duck . But all told , pretty good we thought.
