Beauberry House review by Pete

I live around the corner from Beauberry House and went there first shortly after it rebranded itself from Belair about 2 years ago and again a week or so ago. The first occasion was dissapointing (reasonable food/value but v.v.slow service, cold coffee, declined to pay service charge) but i'd thought I'd see if it had improved...sadly not, if anything worse. Food v.average, wine v.expensive, waiters completely useless...there was at least 1 waiter per table on account of the place being so empty and most distracting thing was the waiters pacing round an empty room and taking it in turns to pounce on unsuspecting diners like some stealth assassin and top wine up/enquire as to state of health, just to make it look like they were doing something useful.

Clealry they have sold out to become a wedding venue judging by the very ugly marquee which is permanently on the front lawn - a real shame and a hugely wasted opportunity. There are plenty of locals who would use the place..by comparison the Lord Palmerston in East Dulwich and the recently opened Rosendale are rammed on a Saturday evening..
