The Quality Chop House review by Matthew
I have been going to quality chop house for a long time and it WAS one of my favourite restaurants. I actually had not been for about two years, but I was expecting the usual enjoyable experience. No doubt, the food was delicious, suffolk pork, black pudding mash and cracklin, wonderful oysters etc. But the service was lousy. There was indeed a real arrogant condescending manner emanating from the head waiter/manager. I was lectured about my appalling taste in ordering mint sauce with pork chops. ( I wasn't, I wanted to order mints sauce for my friend who ordered the lamb and had never had it before.)
Although the other waiters were pleasant, they were just bad, mains coming before appetizers, drinks never turning up etc. I got the sense that the morale of the staff seemed pretty poor and listless. I also noticed that it was not particular crowded for a saturday night. Overall a strange night, could it just have been a bad night on the service front?
