Kazans Meze & Grill review by Julian Blakeney-Edwards

Having failed to secure a table at the excellent Amaranth restaurant in Earlsfield my wife and I decided to give Kazan's a try. There were plenty of people inside and a Time Out accreditation to lull us into thoughts of good quality food being served on the premises.

To start we ordered falafel that was acceptable but nothing special. We also ordered smoked aubergine that was totally unpalatable. It was akin to eating a cold liquid bonfire that was fueled by hedge trimmings.

Main courses were squid with spinach that had a wonderful combination of cold tender squid and hot chewy squid. Our other main course was a brochette of lamb served with "homemade" tomato sauce. Whilst I a happy to report the lamb was well cooked and tender the very bitter liquidized tinned tomatoes totally ruined the dish.

Sorry Kazan but you score a very poorly and one local family will decline to spend any more of their hard earned money in your establishment.
