Jerk City review by Chris
I cannot comment on food as we simply were refused a chance to try that. How come?
Well, tempted by the enthusiastic review in TimeOut I wanted to book a table for a Saturday night. I called early on Friday and was told that no bookings would be accepted. But, according to the guy I was speaking to, finding a table would not be a problem. I pointed that Saturday, 8pm may be quite a busy time and that a party of 8 of us would be coming, but the guy insisted that we should not expect more than 10 minutes wait and once again, refused to make a proper reservation. Next day, we arrived at 8 sharp and the inevitable happened - all tables were full and, when asked, the manager shrugged and said something about 20+ people being ahead of us and "us not getting a table quickly, if any". I understand their policies about not taking bookings, but knowing that they have something like 5 tables for eating in the whole shop, the guy should not have risked ruining our evening, especially that, as I turns out, he knew about the other big party coming all along. Not professional and quite unfriendly, in my view.
NB As I cannot comment on food and value for money but still have to give some scores to it, I gave average (5) scores for both.
