A follow up to my below email, in the interests of fairness: I called up and spoke to the manager, who took my disappointment very seriously and investigated it fully and offered to make amends. At least it shows they take their customers' complaints seriously (proves that it's always worth taking the matter up with the manager, especially if you don't get a reply to emails: that way you know how seriously they take it, and ti gives them a chance to put things right)
