Ruby Blue review by Gem Crawley
This place is set in the heart of Leceister Square. And by god - with the value for money - I only pray thats whats you pay for at this terrible terrible place - the location.
A big party of us went with the knowlede - our upcoming 3 course feast was going to set us back £40 each without drinks.
From the very first look at my parsnip soup - I knew I should have sent my apologies to this event. It was 1% parsnip and 99% water. It was terrible and I just hoped for the best with my main. No such luck. Out came a fun sized marsbar piece of turkey - with some dried apricots chucked on it so they could call it 'gourmet'. Between 7 of us, we were expected to share a small bowl of veg and potato - come on - even homeless people can grow some potatos so why the urge to share one of natures great vegables at this wallet raping price?
The decor - right - where do I start? Giant wicker balls of art hanging art above my head just made me fear for my life - not increase my feel of ambience of the place. Service with a smile? No. More life 'oh look, another bunch of naieve mugs to be sucked in by our swanky rip off reputation restaurant" springs to mind.
So, after all this - could we drown our sorrows in beer? Not on your nelly! No draught beer on tap with only extortionate bottles of beer avaible - in the bar, restaurant and club! I was far too sober to see what all the fuss is about with this A lister hang out.
Would I go here again? Maybe - if I won the triple roll over this weekend on the lottery and lost all sense of worth of money. But not until this day comes.
