The Depot review by Anon

I have been a regular at the Depot, my local, for two years but will not be eating there again.

Our meal two weeks ago was tasteless and two out of four mains had to be returned because they were cold. Was this just an off day or have new restaurants in the area left the Depot behind? Another visit this Saturday confirmed that the Depot has indeed lost its touch and is surviving only on its river location.

My main course, fish goujons, was insultingly small (two years ago this was served as chunky, delicious pieces of fish. On saturday it was meanly served, only slightly larger than the the starter portion, and with little pieces of fish. The accompanying salad was so drowned in nasty dressing it was inedible. My boyfriend's pasta was no better than a Monday night, last minute concoction of store cupboard ingredients. My father felt his steak was poor quality and had not been hung properly. it was tough and tasteless and he was unable to finish it. .

On top of this, the menu is lazy and has not changed in 12 months, the wine list is over-priced, and the music an irritating background thud.

Come on Depot, don't take your customers for granted or locals will desert you in favour of many other local gems.
