After reading quite good reviews i took my family there for lunch, pre-booked a table but waited ages at the door before getting acknowledged. Waited almost 45 minutes to get served food finally come another 40 minutes later.... I am from a Sicilian family and the food was ok, but one of the pizza was soggy (artichokes were from a can and the cheese was chewy) and to be honest in italy it would be thrown back into the kitchen (my inlaws run a pizzeria in Italy so i know what a good pizza should be like). The staff should try to smile a bit rather than seem like it is a chore to serve. I may have got them on a bad day according to other reviews or maybe the owner is relying on an old reputation to palm off poor service. The ice cream was good but not great. I would not return which is a shame as i love to support family businesses especially an Italian place.
IFor such a busy and 'popular' restaurant the owner should spend a few pounds on the interior especially the toilets...
