L'Escargot Marco Pierre White review by JZ

How better to celebrate my wife's birthday other than a fine meal at a french restaurant bosting a Michelin star. The staff service upon our attendance was impeccable and a window seat on the ground floor added to the experience.

Our starters consisted of a duck and a mushroom dish which both used fresh ingredients and were well presented. But then things took an unusual turn. My main of salmon was - sadly - a little overcooked. I expressed my disappointment to the manager who was most understanding. As a gesture of good faith, he invited my wife and I to finish our evening in the Picasso room with a glass of complimentary sticky wine and dessert. Suffice to say the desserts were divine and the wine complemented them perfectly.

It is perhaps rare to be afforded such fine customer service in restuarants today. A slight glitch in my meal was countered by some of the finest service and courtesy I have ever had. The salmon was forgotten but the experience lingers and it is for that professionalism I will return again and again to this very fine establishment.
