Ploythai review by Dave Preston

Went here on a Saturday night in August having been told that the food was on par with that being served in the increasingly expensive Walthamstow Village.

What a dissapointment, the place was half empty, bright and quite chilly.

Of the two starters that turned up, only one resembled either of the two we ordered, the Thai fishcakes seeming made of sausage meat, the spare ribs being replaced with stodgy lamb dumplings.

Our sides of steamed rice and one egg fried rice appeared as one bowl of egg fried rice for two and the mains, Garlic Prawns and 'Spicy' Thai Red Curry was flat and dissapointing.

That said, £25.00 for two starters. sides and mains with three beers and a Green tea it is very cheap, but to be honest you can get far better value for money in any Noodle bar in the capital.

On the face of this effort, I don't think the Village eateries should feel threatened just yet
