Camerino review by Rob Brown

Taking clients for lunch I rely heavily on reviews. If this resteurant ever had a poor review there must be something amiss. Having eaten out extensively worldwide and over many years I know a good thing when I eat in it and Camerinos is extremely good.

They were warmly welcoming but not obsequious, the service prompt and knowledgably helpful yet impartial, the atmospere was light and airy though simple and the room is comfortable and spacous. The wine list is extensive and the food a complete delight. The set menu is reasonable at £29 for three courses though I doubt if anyone could resist the main menu. This at £10 a starter, £12.50 for pasta and £19-22 for mains is certainly not cheap but you quickly realise that the value is not in question. We shared the 2nd (pasta) course as the full 3 courses would have been excessive. A buttery agnolotti with beetroot and ricotta followed by exquisite calves liver in raisins and pine nuts for me and baked cod for my friend; truly delicious.
