Frankies review by Hugh Gharce

I took my family to Frankies on a Saturday afternoon in Spring. We had been to Pug the previous restaurant which we liked a lot.

We were knocked out by the interior, surely one of the most spectacular eating environments in the Londodn area. All smoked glass, leather table cloths and mirror balls. The service was good although not overly friendly. We ordered 1 pork belly, 1 lamb steak and 2 pizzas for mains. Because my 15 year old son didn't want to order from the kids menu, he ordered the same pizza as my daughter form the adult one. When they arrived they were both identical but with a £4 price difference. I found this a little annoying

but we soldiered on.

I thought the food was very nice but overpriced by about £4 per item, my wife thought the food was average and overpriced.

If you want a special atmosphere to dine in then I recommend Frankies later in the evening when the trendy 20 and 30 brigade waft in and pose, not my thing but they obviously bring in the money, so who am I to object.

Frankies obviously caters for a precise crowd and I think it pulls it off - I could have done with a few more smiles and more attentive service.
