Miyako (formerly Miyabi) review by Natasha Langton
My previous raw fish eating activities had extended only as far as the M&S lunch range and Yo! Sushi. So being taken out for “proper” sushi was something I was very much looking forward to. Miyabi is located almost on top of Liverpool Street station and its atmosphere is typical of City eateries. The dining room is functional and could be considered to lack in terms of innovative design. However, pioneering dining room design is not what Miyabi is about. What the place does seem to be about however, is good food. The wasabi sauce was devilishly eye-watering - meanwhile the sashimi contrasted this with its delicately soft, undulating slices of fish - whilst the rice of the sushi complemented the delightful texture of the fish superbly. My meal was perfectly set off with a delicious glass of plum wine. I very much look forward to extending my sushi eating repertoire there again!
