Lost Society review by Anna Mostyn Williams

I went for dinner and drinks after reading the many glowing reviews, but unfortunately was bitterly disappointed. I expected somewhere along the lines of Loungelover, but found Lost Society to be cliched with bad cocktails, cheap furnishing and generic 'towny' music. The food was a real let down, my aubergine starter was undercooked, and my cod main was bland and cold. The basic ingredients were obviously not fresh, and the restaurant suffers from simply bad cooking. Lost Society obviously now has a fantastic reputation, but one which to my mind, with food and drinks like this, will quickly be lost. If you are looking for innovative fun drinking and dining, I would head East.

Originally I suggested to Anna that we went to Lost Society for dinner. On seeing the manufactured que of people out side I realized I had made the wrong decission. It didnt take me long to realize that the only thing that was warm and bubbly at lost society was Anna, everything else was tasteless, cold and flat. At the end of the evening I felt embarrassed that I had suggested Lost Society and wish I hadnt ventured south.
