Love the pub, love the food, but have been really put off by the sight of mice running around the place...haven't eaten there since

Have been to censored in the past and it was good but yesterday, went to the loo and spotted Sainsbury's plastic box of tortellini waiting to go into boiling water. And surprised to notice that there isn't a dividing door between to loo and the open kitchen. We left without ordering I'm afraid.

I went to censored towards the start of December 2007. I was with four other people that I was just meeting for lunch. We all got ill the following day with gastro-enteritus - I called censored shortly after to let them know what had happened and was told I would be phoned back. I foolishly expected an apology, or maybe even the offer of a refund. They never contacted me.

The eating experience was dreadful:

We were placed next to a big table of parents who were treating the restaurant as their nursery - so their kids were going nuts. We asked to be moved, but in the end had to move ourselves as it took the waiters too long to sort anything out even though it wasn't even busy.

The food arrived too quickly and wasn't very nice. The meat tasted re-heated and bland.

The inside was shabby and lacked atmosphere.

I've never written one these kind of things before, but felt compelled to.

But don't even consider going to censored.

I had a meal in this restaurant before Christmas. As a result, I spent two days in hospital with Salmonella poisoning and 10 of my work colleagues were also affected to varying degrees. My Christmas and New Year were ruined as a result.

Eat here at your peril !!!

Food - Very small portions that taste absolutely disgusting.

Service - Trailer trash waitresses that don't know what they are doing

Ambience - The place was extremly dark, hot and stuffy, trying to come across classy but failing miserably.

PRICE - £60 = two course + wine . What a rip off!

By far the worse meal of my life.

I see there are other comments along the lines of mine so it is nice to see I am not alone but what can we do about it

I went to censored restaurant with my friend on Sunday January 13th at approx.7pm

We were going to get a snack and sit down in the upstairs area.

I ordered a soup and went to sit down to have it my friend ordered chicken and veg and sat with me while he waited for them to bring it.

I then went back to the counter to order some food.Salt Beef sandwich and a portion of chips

I saw the chips go into the pan and never saw anyone for approx,10 mins.while as someone else says the staff were chatting

Then a young girl came to the counter and I said to her if they are my chips cooking I will not want them without the sandwich.

She then agressively said what do you think I have come over here for.I then said can I please have it lean on white bread.

She then said I don't want to serve you.She then went to the owner who I think is her Mother and returned saying I don't want to serve you nor does she.

I then went to the owner and said excuse me what is going on and the young girl came rushing over and shouted at me why donít you f..k off

I then went to tell my friend still waiting for his food that I would wait for him in the car as I would not be eating there

As I was leaving and passing the young girl I did say you are a cow to which she replied you are a c...t and a p...k.I left.

I assure you I said nothing wrong to this girl to be spoken to in this obscene manner.

I wonder if any other ex patrons have been on the receiving end of the same

I have never in my 67 years been subjected to this foul language even when I worked in Petticoat Lane.

I made my second visit to censored for lunch with with some colleagues last week. On both occasions, I've not been terribly impressed with the pizza but other than that I would have to describe the service and the food as 'average'.

However, things took a turn for the worst on this latest visit as two mouthfuls into my veggie pizza, I had a free, very large catapillar with my topping!

Suddenly my appetite had left me but the manager was very apologetic and offered me anothe pizza, and made it clear that my meal would be taken off the total bill.

As I was still in need of some lunch, despite the unfortunate appearance of the catapillar, I accepted the offer (and went for a different pizza). I found that he pizza base on this one was also very peculiar. To be fair, I wasn't really in the right frame of mind for any more food from censored (as I have realised it's very disappointing) but in truth, the whole experience further cemented my resolve to completely avoid this place in the future.

I went to this restaurant on the 5th January 2008 for a friends surprise Birthday. The staff had faces likes kites and it just so turns out that whilst paying for our drinks with card, my card has been cloned! They took my card whilst I paid for some drinks and after going shopping today it seems my card had been declined. When speaking to my bank they had said my card had been cloned and purchases had tried to be made on the internet. Now this is the only time my card has been out of my sight ever. I wasn't happy that they had to take my card away as the machine they used came after. Pointless when all they had to do was get the machine first and then I hand over my card.

The failed transactions were on the 8th and 9th of January, a few days after going to censored. Coincidence? Anyway I will not be going to this restaurant again, and I advise that you either refuse them to take your card, or just follow them with your card. I am always so very careful and nothing like this has ever happened to me. You trust these people and this is how they repay you. If you are going to this restaurant, just be on your guard.

I came to eat here with friends and ordered Lamb tikka. To my disgust I found a cyst oozing puss in one of the pieces of meat. Although the staff were apologetic and did not charge me for my meal, at the end of the day I was served cheap diseased meat. I shall never come here again.
