I have just finished having dinner with my husband at censored . I found a dead spider with it's web in my husband's steamed vegetable rice! I showed it to the waitress who put the dead spider with the web on a tissue and showed it to the manager. She came back to tell us that it was a spider(!) (as if we couldn't see the legs, body and web) and that this never happened to them before. When the manager didn't come to apologise we asked to see him and when he came he said: "Apparently the spider crawled in the rice and got cooked and there is nothing I can do about that. I'll subtract the service off your meal and the rice". He didn't seem to be that bothered about it. We told him we didn't feel comfortable going back again and we wont to be honest, at least for quite some time. We've eaten there many times and even though it's not a fancy place it doesn't excuse the fact there are dead spiders with weds in their food. Apart from being disgusted people can get sick from this. This is basic hygiene and every restaurant should have it.

This bar is full of young brazillian students who try are on the "pull" to find a sugar daddy so be warned if you have a good job in the city. Having experienced this DONT swap numbers unless your single as you will find yourself drawn into a web of lies and fluttering eyelashes until you have an empty wallet!!!! Additionally dont think your the only one they are seeing you will be one of several! Overall crap atmosphere and food music okay but women although good on the eye have ONE thing in mind and thats your MONEY not YOU!!!!!!

Never have we been treated so badly in a restaurant. We didn't even make it to our table before being insulted by the manager.

On entry we were barely acknowledged but after approaching a waiter were told to wait for a table. There were five of us and we took a seat in the waiting area at the front of the restaurant. The place looked fairly shabby but we were there for the food. As we waited, the manager sat smaller groups that arrived after us which is fairly understandable but when one couple hesitated and suggested that we were there first he barked back at them to follow him. In disbelief they scampered after him to which all we could do was laugh nervously in horror. And then he turned on us.

"WHY YOU LAUGH AT ME???" he demanded. And then he came right up to my face, literally an inch away as I sat in shock and repeated even louder, "WWHY YOU LAUGH AT ME?!". "We weren't!" I protested. "WHY YOU THINK I'm FUNNY???" he screeched. As the shock subsided I felt anger and asked him not to be so rude. "YOU CAN WAIT OUTSIDE!!" he shouted. He looked like he wanted to hit me.

If I hadn't been so taken aback I would have given him a piece of my mind in his native tongue just to show him I wasn't the ignorant westerner his look seemed to imply. But all I could say was ..."You are a rude man" as my gobsmacked group and I left the building never to return.

I've always found the Japanese, specifically in western countries to be extremely hospitable. But certainly not this horrible man...perhaps he wasn't even Japanese.

Stay clear of this restaurant, it does not deserve customers.

unfortunately this was possibly one of the worst meals i have ever had. even if it was supposed to be a cheap fish and chip shop the food would have been unacceptable. my fellow diner spent the following week with profound gastrointestinal upset. i was not surprised not to have the same problem as the sole i had was overcooked. it approximated something from an episode of nuclear fallout. it is such a shame that a place in such a fantastic location, that should cook local fresh fish without difficulty was overpriced and the food truly horrendous. i would strongly advise against it

So sad that censored has closed, now replaced by censored, a promising appearance but so poor delivery. In fact, the place is dangerous, a potential health risk. Gambas, raw and bloody, were returned and subsequently removed from the bill (without an apology by the Manager). The steak was undercooked and raw rather than medium (as requested). Twenty four hours after the gory experience we still cannot get rid of the nausea. Service was pleasant but without the kitchen functioning well, this is not enough.

My first visit to this resaurant was two years ago when I dined for my birthday on the top floor. The food and service were impecable. I had the most amazing souflee of my life.

However, I dined here again two weeks ago on the second floor. As I was eating my very stale focaccia bread, I pulled out a very long hair which had obviously been baked into the bread. I held the hair and lump of bread swung like a pendulum. It was revolting. A waiter saw this and as I placed it down in a napkin, he took it away, took our bread basket away and offered no apology or explaination. After ten minutes, we asked if they would respond, They were very rude and dismissive and treated us like we were trying to pull a fast one. The waitress was very sarcastic. Our fries were undercooked and hard. We honestly could have got better ones in McDonalds. Whilst the burgers were very good, my swordfish was cold, undercooked and revolting.

We did not bother staying for dessert.

We visited censored between Christmas and New Years and very much enjoyed the food and ambience. We were, however, a bit turned off by the waiter (not sommelier) who was siphoning wine from bottles that he was decanting for customers. We had a unique line of view behind the small partition from which he was executing his indiscretion. Then the coat room "lost" a new black cashmere scarf that we were unable to replace. We called to follow up several times but the lack of interest and assistance was disappointing.

Sounds like some quality "genetically modified" chicken to me!

Mouldy potato in a boullabaise (since when did they contain potatoes anyway). Manager who disputed this and then disappeared when we complained. Needless to say we will not be returning.
