Bocca di Lupo
I am making an effort to review the places I like, rather than use this as a complaint forum!
Well, the food here was amazing. We had a brilliant starter: a salad of black and red radishes in truffle dressing. Followed by daily special, aubergine parmagana and a salt baked sea bass and a couple of desserts. Loved it all.
The poundage compared to the quality is pretty good where the bill came to £75 after a few glasses of preseco and coffees.
Italians can easily bore and when the food is even made well can fall short of inspiring.
This place, however, tantalized my taste buds.

York & Albany
A few weeks ago I received an offer from Toptable.com for 2 course per person for £18 at the York and Albany .
This was similar to your offer last year at the Boxwood Cafe which was a similar amount of money and we were delighted.
Both dinners were around £60-70 for two people.
I would like to say that the 'early dinner' dinner menu at York and Albany on Friday night was terrible.
For starters - sweet cherry tomatoes with a tomato jelly and soft white cheese and salmon in a sweet corn source. Mains were pasta in a butter source and a pan fried fish. 3/4 of the dishes were quite frankly terrible. The tomato starter was overly sweet and the jelly and cheese did not mix well. The salmon with sweet corn reminded me of my time as a uni student - something simple and cheap for a Monday night. The pasta also reminded me of something I had the night before made in my microwave (as we are unable to make anything else as everything is packed due to our home move).
This place is like a minger in make up. OK, until you scratch the surface.
I would have had more fun if I threw my food at the waiters.

Princi
Princi is a cool hang out. I love the aperitivo and is a great place to grab a pre-meal cocktail.
I've have had a couple of meals here and the place is like an up-market pret-a-manger and that is how I would judge the place.
When you want an easy breakfast, a light lunch or a quick dinner Princi is there in the running.
The salubrious sounderings hitting for a tenner a head I'm not sure what more you can expect, a sandwich in Starbuck and a pint of beer in Weatherspoons.
Well worth checking out any time of day

Artigiano
I love Artigiano! Well, it has everything a restaurant should offer.
The food it serves up is good quality is genuinely Italian but it doesn't cost a fortune. The service is good and decor stylish.
I have had a few meals here and have always highly enjoyed each meal.
Quite simply, this is a brilliant restaurant which punches above it's wait in it's price bracket. Well worth a visit.

La Porte des Indes
I think many of the readers agree. The interior of this restaurant is a tacky imitation of some maharaja. I feel like I’m stepping back in to the early 80's when London had few funky restaurants.
The service is poor (even though they charge 12.5%). It took ages to seat us, a long time to serve and even longer to bring us water.
The food tasted ok, but it should be as everything was so expensive. (I was at Hakkasan a few days before and the price was quite similar.)
Don't bother going here; there are a plethora of other good and smart Indian restaurants to go to.

Lemonia
Who ever has read my other reviews know that I can be frightfully critical. However, on this page, I believe, Lemonia has had some unfair coverage. This place stands along side the other greats in Belsize Park/Camden/Primrose Hill area, such as the Italian Artigiano, the Spanish Tapeo tapas bistro and Maine Ices pizza and ice cream parlour.
There is a reason this place is always packed for the last 30 years. The mezas are always well done and the fish is always fresh. This place is good for the family outing or weekday dinner. Go for the sardines and tahini to start. And, for the mains take the fish which is done on the grill. I’ve tried but I hear the spring chicken is a good option for the mains.
Lemonia run by a bunch of old time Greek Cypriots run a good show. At £35 a head after service we were stuffed when we left.
A good restaurant for the casual meal.
