Golden Dragon

This place is average for Dimsum or should I say yam cha. I am so disappointed with its Chiuchow funguo. I can tell you for free, it is NOT Chiuchow funguo at all. I told my friend, perhaps I should go to the kitchen to teach them how to cook Chaoshan food. The dishes seem sweet and perhaps have added sugar or rather heavy handed with its msg! The bill is also rather high for two person eating dimsum at over £45 service not included.

Laureate

Not much point writing about this restuarant. It has now shut its doors.

New Mayflower

My friend informed me this is the best Cantonese restaurant for seafood dishes. I went there with my friend's family. We arrived at 7 and they gave us a table at 8 pm. They did tell us we could not book a table on the phone. The food arrived at 9:10 pm.

The portion was small, It seems they have added sugar in their dishes. The sauces were like glue. The only thing which tasted good were the rice, the soup in the beginning and the sweet soup at the end. In Cantonese cuisine, one does not have one's soup in the beginning of a meal!

I must remember never to come to this restaurant again unless I want to eat very bad Cantonese food and enjoy very bad service.
