Light of Gurkha

What a find! This was plan B on a Saturday as Plan A was full.

The food was fantastic, the best and freshest Indian/Nepalese food we've had in a long time.

I agree with the previous reviewer in that the tables are quite close together, but this seems pretty standard across London and it should not put you off. The restaurant was full and the service was efficient and friendly, we certainly felt looked after.

Hmm, still thinking about the food and planning my next visit. Luckily the missus is out on tuesday, so I'll treat myself to the Gurkha

The County Arms

We went on a quiet weekday lunchtime, the service was good and the food was excellent. Very friendly staff including the manager who insured we had an enjoyable lunch.

Good pub food.

La Trompette

Fantastic food & service. Ditto to all the comments below, we will be back soon and with parents! If you haven't been reserve your table now.

Great lunch deal on 2 or 3 courses. We also recommend the Chilean chardonnay!

Grissini

Took the folks and missus here over Easter. It was very quiet, is it the credit crunch or does everyone leave Clapham! Initially I was wafted by the smell of bleach coming from the toilets, whilst not a pleasing smell at least it meant they were clean.

The food was good, menu extensive, although it can get expensive if you don't order the pasta.

4 clean plates is testament to the food, thouroughly enjoyable. The wine list while not extensive does cater for all price brackets.

Can thoroughly recommend this place and look forward to going back

Good local Italian run eaterie. Fresh food reasonably priced and friendly relaxed service. We have been going for years and have never been disappointed.

Haweli of Clapham

Had great hopes from reading the reviews of this place but unfortunately our experience could not have been worse. Where do we start...poor service, ignored for 1/2hr in an empty restaurant (and this was a Friday night!) while the 4 waiters were busy hanging around the phone and chatting to each other. Eventually we got some drinks and they took our order. The highlight of the evening was the poppadoms, freshly cooked and crisp, the rest of the food was poor. One of the curries was far too hot to make it inedible even though we like our hot curries! We complained and were offered a complimentary glass of "wine" at the end of our meal which turned out to be watered down pinot grigio with some other non-alcoholic liquid concoction in it.

Never again!
