Eat 17

We went to the new "Eat 17 Bar and Restaurant" on Friday and what a great change they have made.

We had a really lovely evening. The food was very good as was the atmosphere and service.

The Village Kitchen

I must say, over few months. The Village Kitchen has been great and vastly improved, so much so, after a long break we have been eating there quite regularly.

A group of five of us went in on Saturday 11th July. One had the pigeon and one had the steak & I can honestly say that both were cooked perfectly and portion size was good. In fact all the food was really lovely. Drew's must have been an exception. So please don't let one blip put you off.

Brasserie Gerard (Loughton)

This restaurant has such a lovely atmosphere. The food is ok, although the moules & frites are lovely and the staff are lovely, helpful, but not at all pushy. Went there twice in June. will definitely go back soon.

Eyre Brothers

My husband and I love this restaurant; in fact it is one of our favourites. We have been there many times, never had a bad meal or a bad experience. Wonderful!

Pizzeria Pappagone

I really love this place. We used to go there all the time, but unfortunately, moved away from the area. We do now visit whenever we can though.

The service, food and atmosphere are all lovely and they have just introduced a new menu, that has even more lovely choices on. We went there on Friday night and had a lovely time, I think we will have to start hopping on the tube more often; they really do deserve all the custom they get.

Eat 17

We visited yesterday; this is our the first time back since they had a few problems, a while ago.

I must admit I was reluctant to try them again, but at around 5pm, when all the other restaurants in the Village are closed, we decided to give it a go.

We were pleasantly surprised. The food was very nice & you could not grumble about the service. We will definitely go back.

The Village Kitchen

We have been going to The Village Kitchen on and off for years now.

Visited again this weekend with some friends.

The food was really lovely, as was the amosphere. The staff, although very pleasant and accommodating were a tad on the slow side, but we still all enjoyed our lunch despite that.

Trattoria La Ruga

I agree with all the above, but like the other reviewer below, I must say the wine is very overpriced. At £5 for a small glass of very average house wine, it makes their weekend offer of £12.50 for two courses seem daft.

It has stopped quite a lot of people I know from taking up the offer

Marco Pierre White's Yew Tree Inn only charge £4 for their very decent house wine!
