used to love this gastro pub but visited last Friday and left starving, prices have gone up and the portions have gone down. mentioned this to the waitress who said 'new chef'. whats the point of going to a gastro and getting fine dining. my beetroot and goats cheese salad was joke size and my shepherds pie could have been a starter! Needless to say won't be going back.

Cantina Italia

visited this restaurant last night after hearing about it through a neighbour who had recommended it however was very disappointed. Ordered the parpadelle with wild boar ragu which was very heavily over salted and my friend ordered the risotto and also commented on the ridiculous amount of salt in it. My other friend ordered the sea bas which for £13.90 was the smallest portion of fish imaginable with some soggy potatoes no vegetables. We all joked that she would have to go home and raid the fridge!

We all ordered rocket and parmesan salads off the menu but they had none, and they are opposite Budgens which was open! so we ordered green salads but these came with some limp round lettice mixed with iceburg on a plate for £3 - we sent these back. We all agreed it was the worst meal out we had had in Islington and won't be going back. Oh and there was no atmosphere as only 2 other tables were occupied - says a lot.
