Dim T (Highgate)
Went here to celebrate a birthday, was great. Nice atmosphere, efficient and attentive staff and good food at a reasonable price.
We had a selection of dim sum as well as a couple of mains and some lovely cocktails.
Waiter forgot one of our dim sum so gave it to us on the house as well as offering a birthday brownie.
Would go back - does exactly what it should do for the price bracket. This is not somewhere you're going to spend hours over a gourmet meal but if you want some dim sum outside of china town it's an enjoyable option.
Manager was excellent.

The Albion
Really disappointing food, bland, overcooked, overpriced. Great garden though.

Pearl Restaurant & Bar
Gorgeous restaurant, polite attentive staff, beautiful food.
Service was quite slow but that wasn't an issue, we weren't starving and it was nice to have a glass of wine, some bread and a chat.
Brown bread was delicious, amuse bouche an unexpected treat. quail starter was the highlight. Rabbit was innovative, soft and juicy, no room for dessert, great coffee.
Lunch menu good value, wine expensive but worth it. Enjoy!!

St James Restaurant & Bar
We had great food in here last night. The change in decor to the bar in the front makes you want to go in, it's light, bright and airy. We went for breakfast last saturday, excellent quality food, well cooked. Sausages from the butchers next door and eggs from Gill Wing, nice to see a bit of local support.
Last night we ate in the retaurant, nice decor, could do with some art, patio lovely. It was almost full on a wednesday night.
Food was near perfect, decent pricing and portions. Squid & whitebaite starter, well cooked, light batter with chilli and good tarter sauce. My veggie main was huge, veggie strudel, not too much pastry, filled with veg, delicious coulis. Husband's calves liver, cooked pink and perfect, with good accompaniments.
Didn't make it to puds, were stuffed. Recommended for quality inredients, a chef who knows what they are doing with them at a decent price.

Bistro Aix
I have been to Aix before and had good food but was a very different story last night:
Food didn't come as ordered, arrogant, pretentious staff, stingy portions, burnt fillet steak. My husband had fininshed his food before I had got mine.
Ready disappointed, not recommended - go elsewhere, pay less and eat better.
