Babylon at The Roof Gardens

We had a birthday dinner for 10 people, cost was £75 a head with wine. I would say we each had one starter and a main, and shared a dessert between 2, and probably a bottle of wine between 3. The service was really good, and the ingredients and execution likewise very good. Also we were not pressured to leave the table at any stage which is not always the case.

I never mention portion sizes, but on this case I have to comment that sizes varied greatly from dish to dish! One fish dish was very small in size, whereas the same course of a mixed grill was about 3 times as big, they should sort it out. They make great cocktails here, it was lovely to start the evening with cocktails out on the terrace overlooking the flamingos in the garden.

No sign of the sommelier problems listed below, so I suppose we had another person that night. Also the setting and decor I liked a lot, we were in a booth, which was a little cramped, true, and the decor is fine for what it is: a pre-clubbing joint. I would definitely go again, but next time am ordering the mixed grill between two people! ;)

Moro

We had a great meal here for 6 people last weekend. I ordered tuna carpaccio salad, and the mixed meze. Everyone at the table ordered different things and everyone was very happy, the food is very well done and usually comes with an interesting twist, e.g. (e.g: the gaspacho soup with fig or the greek salad with anis croutons). We found the wine selection very interesting, some lesser known (in London) catalunyan wines. Agree that its very noisy, and the place looks basic, but for food quality, I cannot fault this place. We did find the service mixed at times, but we didn't care as it was still pretty reasonably priced for the quality meal we had (around £55 a head with wine). Will definitely go back!

Wild Honey

My partner & I went there in the spring, and had great food. We were probably in the worst table in the house (nearest to the till) and it is expensive, but what we ate was really great - in particular was a 40 day aged steak. We didn't have a set menu, and agree the service was a bit variable. I think we didn't care by the end as we had already drunk a lot and had enjoyed the main course so much! We would go back at some time in the future to see if other dishes are as good as the ones we tried last time. Overally pretty good
