Giusto Restaurant

Not the best place for Italian. Service is terrible and food over-priced. Would not go again nor would I recommend it.

Absolutley appaling. The service is dreadful and the food is over-priced for what you get. I ordered the enchiladas which come with refired beans (which were luke warm) and spicy rice (which was the driest rice I'd ever eaten).

The place is clearly under staffed and so to get anyone's attention is a right task in it self.

Would not recommened this place to anyone. If you want good mexican food try cafe pacifico in covent garden or mesitzo.

Went there for dinner with a huge group of people. The restaurant accommodated well for all 30 of us. We had the set menu which meant there was copious amounts of food coming our way all through the night. The set menu includes starters, main course and mint tea an baklava. However, they forgot about the baklava even though we went downstairs to the bar bit after dinner.

Drinks are very expensive so I suggest you drink elsewhere before coming to the restaurant.

The bar downstairs is cosy and comfortable.

My complaints far out weigh my compliments regarding this restaurant. My only compliment is – hat’s off to the chef, the food here is absolutely divine.

However, I have a number of complaints:

(1)The person who designed the tables for the restaurant clearing hadn’t thought that people might actually sit at them. The base is too wide to accommodate anyone, I’m a short person and I was struggling to find somewhere to put my legs, I felt sorry for my friend next to me who’s over 6 foot tall!.

(2)The service is dreadful. The head waiter is an obnoxious man who believes that by looking at you he’ll know exactly what you’d like to eat. I quote ‘Darling, don’t have to the duck, you’ll find it to tough!’.

(3)Finally, it was my friends 22nd birthday and I had rung the restaurant earlier in the day asking about their policy on us bringing our own cake and candles. They said it was absolutely fine. However, when we asked for the cake, the obnoxious waiter turned around and said it will be £2 per head as we weren’t having their dessert. He then goes on to say ‘Oh you won’t be told that over the phone’

In order to avoid any further arguments with the staff we left, paying the 12.5% gratuity.

I really don’t recommend this place to anyone, the food is definitely not worth the appalling service.

La Porchetta (Islington)

Absolutely brilliant. I went there for dinner on Sunday for the first time and I was really impressed. The pizza’s are huge and cheap! Service is very good.

However, only complaint is that it was just a little cramped in the restaurant but other than that will be visiting again very soon.

Cafe Pacifico

Went there last Friday and I have to say this place is like bees attracted to honey. There was a half hour wait before we were seated which is a good thing as you’re then able to enjoy the wonderful cocktails at the bar. My friend and I both ordered burritos which was absolutely divine. Portions are huge and we struggled to finish.

The atmosphere is perfect if you’re having drink and dinner followed by clubbing as the place is bustling with people. I have to say, if you want a quiet romantic dinner this is not the place. I found myself shouting to be able talk to my friend.

The service is fast and efficient.

Definitely go there again.

I went there last night for dinner and was very impressed with the food and the service. I had the Chicken Gohan which was chopped chicken in a teriyaki sauce with onions and carrots (only complaint: reduce the amount of onions!). It came in a magnificent looking tray with salad and two sauces. My boyfriend had chicken and noodles which was a very simple meal which he claims he got bored of after a while. The portions are huge definitely value for money.

I would recommend this place to anyone that's looking for quick good food.

Clearly a happening restaurant as the whole restaurant was full and there was a queue extending to the door of the restaurant as we were leaving.

Spaghetti House (Goodge St)

Went there for dinner last night, had pasta with chicken and bacon. Very standard meal that I could have quite easily prepared at home. However, my friends had the tagliatelle with veal and the mushroom risotto, which they said was divine. The portions are very good especially for the price. Overall, 6/10

Thai Metro

I went for the first time after hearing good reviews from many of my friends, unfortunately I wasn't impressed. Yes the service is impeccable, but they want to fit as many people into the restaurant as possible. I had to move my table so other people could fit into their table. The food was good (small portions though). On the whole 6.5/10
