What a great find. A rustic, welcoming French brasserie with beautifully cooked food to match.
Following Jay Rayner’s recent review, we plumped for the “piggy treats” as a starter and were not let down: gorgeous chunks of sausage and ham - more than enough to share. Poulet Grandmére and Duck Confit proved on a par with the meat dishes to be found just down the road at St. John: expertly cooked, delicately flavoured and melt-in-the-mouth tender with a generous bowl of tasty chips alongside. Our evening was topped off with delicious homemade ice creams. The friendly service, relaxed atmosphere, well-placed tables and surprisingly reasonable bill at the end of the night are all reasons to make this a regular haunt. I’ve already got their Cassoulet and pastries on the list for must-try’s next time!
