Osteria dell'Arancio

The fact that Osteria dell'Arancio's 'other' restaurant is in Italy speaks volumes. Every time I have been here the food has been so fresh and the menu seems to change depending on what is in season and plentiful. Also, the staff seem aware that they don't have the most perfect spot in the world so make the extra effort with service. This is the type of place where you can have a bowl of tasty pasta for lunch or a more adventurous foray into the delights of contemporary Italian cooking in the evening. Oh, and the wine list is a delight!

Maroush II (Beauchamp Place)

Of all complaints about this restaurant those I simply don't understand are about the staff. Upstairs, in the formal dining area, the service is simply excellent. Downstairs it is a bit more of a free-for-all, but quick and the sandwiches are fantastically cheap. I admit the main courses are not the most inspirational but go for the meze (it is after all a lebaneze place) it's just fantastic. I've been here for birthdays and they've made it really special but they are also adept at the quick weekday bite.

Itsu (Chelsea)

I eat here all the time (or sometimes at home but with an Itsu box in front of me). It's not the most fantastic sushi I've ever had but it's definitely the most fun. The cockails are great and the Walton Street branch is never without a buzz. For those that are more than slightly intimidated by the labrador-like blondes blocking the entrance the takeaway menu is very good value.
