I had not been to this restaurant for years despite being a local because I was not impressed at my first visit, but I decided to give it another try.

The food is average at best, and I'm being kind. It certainly does not match other Chelsea Italians I frequent.

The worst thing is the general experience. I have never experienced such a rush (I have never been rushed at The Ivy and they are much busier). It is incredibly rude to leave one person eating when others have had their plates cleared. I had barely put my knife down on the main course when the plate was snatched.

More ridiculous is the owner's insistence to decide what side orders you should be having (which is pompous to say the least)and the number of portions required. I knew that for our party of four this would not be sufficient but he assured us that he would bring us more during the meal as required. I assume our opportunity to ask for more was in the split second that he rushed by and asked is everything ok without even waiting for an answer. Where was he rushing to anyway - it was not that busy!

An uncomfortable experience especially as it was supposed to be a family event.

I will be going to my usual local eateries in future where I find the management allows us to order what we want and finish it in whatever time we need. Ironically I eat far too fast so I dread to think how slower eaters manage - are they allowed to finish at all?

This time I will not be returning to give it another try
