Extremely disappointing. Veeraswamy is an institution - one that our parents have often mentioned. We came here with high hopes after its recent refurbishment. The good news is that decor is fabulously done. But everything else was a massive let-down. The food was nothing to write home about - the biryiani was very dry and nonedescript. My wife's Rama Gosht was small in portion and very salty. Service was very poor. The rice was forgotten from the order & we had to re-order it after the meal had already been served. A waiter topped up my water glass with wine, and then offered to replace the water. I had to point out he'd used up wine and a replacement glass of house white would be appreciated. A bill was left on the table for 20 minutes without a pen. But above all, there's the cost. It's staggeringly expensive. I don't mind paying high prices if it's worth it. This isn't. With a price tag of £19 for the most basic main course the standard needs to be very high. It isn't. I've eaten far far better Indian meals in the London provinces for 1/3rd the price. My advice - go there if you don't mind wasting money. Otherwise there is much better value to be had elsewhere. This is the most disappointing meal out I've ever had in London.
