We were very much looking forward to our meal at Mirabelle on Satruday evening, having been surprised to manage to book a table on the same day.
We arrived to find a practically empty restaurant and hoped for attentive service but instead felt that the key aim of staff was to get us back out the door as soon as possible.
Our starters arrived within 10 mins of ordering them we started to get worried when these where whipped away within moments of finishing to be almost immediately replaced with our rather lukewarm mains.
Beefwellington at £27.95 - an (unpriced) special seemed surprisingly expensive considering even the lobster was £29.00, and a fillet steak only £19.00. This unfortunately tasted as if it had been sitting on a hot plate waiting for someone to order it.
My husband did not enjoy his practically cold duck either.
We ordered the bill without trying the desserts which we expected to be equally disappointing - a food bill of £70.95 for two courses each really wasn't justified and we shall not be returning!
