four of us had a meal there on Friday 13th. This is not altogether a traditional Indian restaurant. We had to wait a while for a table even though we had booked it . We ordered the best white wine on the wine list which we were assured was chilled but it was only cellar cold. So that was disappointing for £29. We asked for some poppadoms and we got two cut up and served in something like ice cream dishes. Starters arrived promptly. One of us had scallops ---3 little scallops with some kind of sauce which was not right and cost £7.95!!! The rest of the meal was OKish but not up to our normal Indian. We received a complimentary glass of Red wine for some unknown reason which we thought was quite a nice touch (maybe it was obvious that we were disappointed in an unchilled white). The restaurant was trying to be a bit different and it was doing quite well for a Friday night but I doubt if we will return.

Carluccio's (Kingston)

3 of us ate there on Sat 13th Dec and it was not busy at all. We had 2 good bean soups and a salad for starters, preceded by the bread tin and olives. We also had tons of the Foccacia bread with the starters. Too much. Main courses were all pasta, Again good but too much of it. We should not have eaten all that bread before. Nice good quality ice cream to finish with expresso coffee poured over it. A good bottle of red from the monthly specials. Not quite enough for 3 so we had an extra glass of Montepulciana.

Ristorante Positano

4 of us ate there on friday evening 12th Dec after cinema. We had no problem getting table - sign of the times. We started off with a nice cold bottle of Prosecco. I had prawn cocktail, followed by a chicken dish the ice cream. It was ok but not great. My friend had Asparagus soup followed by spaghetti lobster then cheesecake. He said none of the courses were that good and he left most of the main course. Our two other friends said their food was ok. I think we had a nice bottle of Montepulciana.
