It was the 29th December and our 10th anniversary, the restaurant we'd booked was awful so we had to think on our feet. We had been to Meza two years ago when it was Mezo and had a great time so we thought we'd give it a try. They had a table downstairs in the cuban part which was great, the new decor is lovely they have made the ceiling quite low which gives a very intimate atmosphere which could be difficult for such a large restaurant to achieve. There was a live band playing great cuban music, the staff were excellent, very attentive but unobtrusive. The food was good but we thought not as good as the last time we went but that could just be because it was a different style. The prices don't really seem to have changed not cheap but not too expensive we had 2 bottles of wine and three course plus the 12.5% service and it came to £150. Overall we had a fantastic evening which was over far too quickly as we had preordered a cab and the time had flown by. We will definately go again and recommend it to everyone who wants a great informal or dressy evening with friends or a loved one a great alround restaurant.

Our 10th anniversary was comming up so we decided to celebrate with a lovely meal out. Unfortunately our first choices were closed over Christmas, we wanted to go out on the 29th December. So browsing through this site I came upon this restaurants reviews and thought it sounded nice so we'd give it a try. The day of the meal came and I phone to check the address and to ask for an extra special table because of the event, i was assured this would be done. We should have guessed that the meal may be a disaster when the postcode given wasn't the right address, not to worry we found the place and very grand it was too and thats as far as the compliments go. The lady at the desk seemed most suprised we were there and we were told to pick a table, not given an extra nice one which wouldn't have been difficult as the place was practically empty. I'm sorry to say the room was very like a hotel dinning room, which admitidley is what it was, but it was also very cold with no atmosphere whatsoever and the loudest Bett Midler or similar music blaring out. The specials wern't the specials on the menu and it was a carvery which is most definately not what we wanted. I'm affraid I can't say how the food was as we left. the only good thing about the restaurant was the fact it was in London so we could leave and go somewhere else. Saying that the lady was very appologetic and understanding when we left. We understand that it was probably the wrong time of year to go but that's not really an excuse and we won't be returning to find out.
