Went on Friday 6th of December as a four-ball, the whole experience was outstanding. From the amuse bouch to the desserts (and yes you get a free pre-dessert, dessert), the quality of the food superb. My friends and I dont want airs and graces, but fine food that wows you and makes you say "How did they do that?". Hence we have no qualms about trying each other's food, so I can safely say that all starters, mains and desserts were wonderful. We paid £492, now in anybody's book thats serious money for a meal, but I would go back tomorrow if I could get in. Trust me, this is a high quality establishment, with informative staff and original, great tasting food, beautifully presented. There are plenty of places to eat in London, but I have no hesitation of putting this on my list, for when I return to The Smoke.

Yming
A really lovely chinese restaurant. We ate here on Friday 25th March, arriving half an hour early, they accomodated us. We chose the most expensive set meal at £23 a head, this was well worth the money, and the quality of food was excellent.Three points to illustrate; the crispy duck was served as only meat, no bones, which was a nice touch. Also the house red was approx £18 a bottle, and was good ! Thirdly ,the cauliflower in spiced (?tempura) is divine !!! Total bill for four with drinks , £132 !! And all agreed a great meal.C'mon, what more do you want !! Definitely on my return list.

Clos Maggiore
Went with my girlfriend on Sunday 28th of March,to round off a gastronomic weekend in the capital.Having scoured the reviews, this was our choice for our final night. What a lovely restaurant ! We were lucky enough to be sat in the conservatory which is as as twinkley romantic as you could wish for.The general atmosphere was refined but not pompous, the staff were courteous yet not over-bearing.As for the wine list,"extensive"is a good word, but prices for everyone (the first list that I have seen that divded New Zealand into south and north island). The food was superb,I agree with others that this is easily one Mitchelin star-worth (whatever that really means).I wont bore you with our individual meals, suffice to say that it was superb, memorable and definitely one to go back too.We had 3 sweets between us,all at the same time, and no-one batted an eyelid !
PS We ate at Le Gavroche the night before, and Clos Maggiore left us more smiley on leaving. Please dont get up yourselves Clos Maggiore, you are a gem.
