Season Kitchen

We came back here again for the umptheenth time last night. The food here is so good & simple & the staff really friendly. They seem to have a good stable menu which they have kept going, but always something new to surprise. We also love Trullo nearby(ish) and this feels like its British cousin. The more we come here the more we love it.... All I can say is that we love saving up & going to interesting restaurants, we've been to many that we really love.. but for some reason I feel compelled to write a review about this one. We'll keep going back.

Season Kitchen

I don't usually write reviews, but with this place I am doing so for selfish reasons. I want more people to go there because I want it to stay! The food is simple, clean and well thought out, it is warm & seductive British soul food. Great value for money and you should travel for it. If only London had more restaurants with this kind of spirit.

Canteen (RFH)

We went here with a group of friends for my wife's Birthday on a Sunday thinking we would get really good food that wasn't hugely expensive.

If I was to run through all of the problems we had I would have to write an essay. I don't really write reviews, but on this one I feel compelled to because it was so bad!

The service was amazingly slow. Drinks took ages to come, it was 45 mins before someone took our order, lots of things were off the menu. Over half an hour later they came back with a list of dishes that we had ordered, which were now 'off the menu'. This happened again. when we had eventually got our food, it was in most cases either dry, cold and bland. By this time most of us had drunk so much on empty stomachs that we were past caring. The manager did her best and apologized at great length. She offered us free coffees at the end.

When we came to order these, a couple of us asked for a brandy. The response we got was 'no'. When we asked why the waiter said you've got free coffees you cant get a free drink as well. We explained that we didn't expect them for free and would pay for them. We were then told they didn't serve brandy (or similar) anyway.

To top it all off when we got the bill we had been charged for everything that we had ordered and then been told wasn't available. In all our meal took about 4 1/2 hours.

Its really hard to imagine how they could have made a meal worse if they tried.

The one thing that was good about it was that it looked great, shame about the service and the food.
