Silom Thai
My wife and I tried this place for the first time last night. All I can say is that it was absolutely excellent. Not just superb value for money, but superb full stop. The missus’ Pad Thai was spot on, and my chilli beef was delicious. But the absolute star of the show was the Tom Yam soup, which had the most deliciously intense flavour of any such soup that I have ever tasted. As an extra bonus, it didn’t contain any floating pieces of galangal and lemon grass (good for flavour, bad for biting into).
The service is also sweet and efficient and the general atmosphere is pleasantly bustley.
I will most certainly become a regular of this place, and cannot recommend it highly enough.

Yakitoria
Having read all the negative reviews, I was prepared for the worst, but I was actually pleasantly surprised. True, it is expensive, but the quality is high. I tried the tuna tartare and it was to die for.
I know several colleagues who have paid a visit (it's just round the corner from where I work), and the general consensus seems to be; go for the appetisers and sushi, steer clear of the main courses.
