I had my second trip here last night. We had an absolutely fabulous meal last time and sod's law would usually dictate that the second time round wouldn't be as good. Not the case whatsoever. This time round we went for the 7 course chefs menu with the wines selected by the sommelier. The food was magnificent, it looked beautiful and tasted even better. By the time we got round to the second pudding I was starting to groan a bit and had to leave half of the fabulous petit fours. All in all an absolutely fabulous place, not at all expensive and well worth a trip. I'd travel miles to get to Chapter One!

Food 10 | Service 10 | Atmosphere 10 | Value for money 10
My young family and I came here on Sunday 22nd January for lunch. We had a good meal, no more or less than I expected and the service was excellent. I've read reviews which suggest that the waiting staff can be a little rude, but thankfully it wasn't the case for us! Our waiter was there when we needed him and not when we didn't. You can't ask for much more than that. We were a little nervous about taking our two young children (aged 6 and 3) and whether or not they would be welcomed. There were no worries there. Paper and crayons appeared almost instantly for them. The staff were more than happy to split the dishes for the kids and they regularly asked if there was anything they could do for them. All in all, if you want to have a decent meal with all the family and not be offered the usual rubbish for the kids, then you can't go far wrong at the Ivy!
