Brinkley's Garden Restaurant

I'm surprised by the reviews here on London Eating of Brinkley's as I have been going for over twenty years and I think its great, my friends like it but my other half doesn't, he feels the staff are just too laid back for his liking, so I suppose you either 'get' Brinkley's or you don't!

Went for lunch with a friend yesterday, we were there for hours and the staff, food and ambience were wonderful, we had delicious salads to start, an endive, blue cheese and roast hazelnut for my friend and my tuna tartare with avocado and shallots was the business. My friend had seared tuna for main and I had a wonderfully tender and savoury fillet steak with béarnaise sauce, shoestring fries and rocket. What was there not to like? True no michelin star in the offing, but all good, simple tasty stuff, and two bottles of wine later we were as happy as a couple of squirrels with a big bag of nuts.
