Roast

We had been very excited about going to Roast for breakfast last Saturday, however, Roast was a sad disappointment.

The staff were friendly enough and the location is delightful. But the food is only average at best - we have had a lot better for a fraction the cost. Perhaps we are spoiled as we shop at Moen's in Clapham, but the sausages were nothing like the quality and flavour that we are used to and the bacon was like string and not much taste. It was like a greasy spoon fry up at Michelin starred prices!

As someone else noted it is surprising that with a resource like Borough Market literally on it's doorstep the quality of the food is so disappointing.

I certainly wouldn't bother visiting again - for £60 I expect a lot better.

Fantastic food and amazing value!

My partner and I dined here tonight and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We were the first in but were made to feel very much at ease and not at all awkward. Despite the lone waiter having to serve 10 tables he was remarkably attentive and pleasant.

I had sweetbreads, followed by scallops and pork belly and my other half had the signature dish of pork cheeks in chorizo followed by the beef - all the dishes were cooked to perfection and utterly delicious, we couldn't fault them.

The desserts were to die for - the cheesecake and the banana tartin.

In all it was food worthy of a Michelin starred restaurant at local restaurant prices - we will definitely return!!
