Having just had a pretty dreadful meal in Kitchen W8 and written a review I thought I should also write something positive about a restaurant I like enormously - ie Sonny's in Barnes.

Been there many times and the food is consistently good, the staff extremely helpful and just generally nice - and the place itself is unpretentious and nice.

Kitchen W8

had a meal at the kitchen a month ago that was very good - and nice atmosphere. I think there is a link to Sonnys in Barnes - which is a really good restaurant - good food, nice people and RELIABLE. Also perhaps to The Phoenix in Putney - that used to be good but has gone off lately and is currently closed.

My meal last night at the Kitchen was DREADFUL. Salad starter was very ordinary and my pork had a miniscule amount of meat on the three tiny fatty and crunchy - Ugh - slivers. Politely said to waitress that the food was quite disappointing and the reply was everyone has their own taste - which I found really annoying - so asked her to let the chef know I was really disappointed in the food - which she obviously didn't do. When leaving I pointed out to the lady at the counter that the meal was very disappointing and the reply was " that pork dish is new - 2 weeks old - and people seem to like it".

When there is such arrogance in a business that your views as someone who has paid reasonable money ( my bill £137-25 last night) count for nothing then I feel they are heading downhill. Am not likely to go back there ever.
