Stef's Italian

We were six colleagues enjoying a night out to celebrate a successful 2011. I had dined here last year with my family and had really enjoyed the meal so recommended it. The rest of the team looked at the menu online and despite an offer to go to higher end 'name' restaurants (boss was paying!) Stefs got the vote as it was felt the menu had something for everyone and was very accessible.

We had a good variety of starters , the spicy king prawns went down really well, as did the cured beef. For mains we had steak, pasta of various types, chicken wrapped in Parma ham and a cod special. Everyone cleared their plates with gusto and we loved the Amorone wine which accompanied it.

Service was great - we had a minor hiccup with a drinks order on arrival but this was corrected quickly and with good humour. Our waiter was charming and Stef came across to have a chat which made us feel very welcome and like 'locals' if there is such a thing just off Oxford St!

Two visits now 6 months apart and both have been excellent meals, great service and we all now consider Stefs to be a safe, affordable but high quality option when dining in London. Six more fans!

Stef's Italian

We visited for the first time on a Saturday early evening for a pre-theatre dinner. We explained when we arrived we needed fairly quick service and we were very efficiently and pleasantly dealt with throughout our meal, leaving in good time to get to our show.

Two of us had a pasta special and two of us ordered from the a la carte. all of the food was of excellent quality, arrived all together and was piping hot - delicious!

We all agreed the restaurant has a smart yet relaxed feel and is in a very handy location for enjoying the west end and surrounding district.

Despite being on a tight schedule we still had time for the owner Stef to come across and entertain us with a few jokes before we left. This was a nice touch and made us feel like regulars already.

We will definately go back to Stef's and would not hesitate in recommending the place. It is relaxed yet sophisticated and we noticed how clean everything was - too often rare in London these days.

I have eaten here many times over the last few years and also recommended it to a few friends - none have been disappointed.

Like several reviewers I have eaten in Italy a lot as well - and I would agree this place is very authentic.

My last meal there I ate alone on an impromtu visit while working in London and the staff were particularly attentive, and I did not feel at all out of place, which can happen when dining alone.

The pasta was so good I phoned my Mum from the restuarant to tell her to come!

Not for an intimate meal due to the small size but great atmosphere, value and quality.
