Moti Mahal

We went to the restaurant with great expectations as our friends said they had very interesting experience there. We were warned that it was pricy but we would be happy to pay for really excellent food. Unfortunately we were extremely disappointed. The service was attentive, in fact over attentive. We felt like victims of hard sale as we were pushed to order more than we were inclined to. The notion that the restaurant doesn't distinguish between starters and main courses was just a gimmick and a way to make you order more dishes and more expensive ones. The food arrived quickly but I found the first dishes (supposedly not starters) were not hot enough temperature wise. The lamb shank was very tender but in a sauce without any flavour whatsoever. This could apply to most dishes which were over spiced and yet without flavour. We could not help feeling that we would have enjoyed better meal in our local Indian restaurant/takeaway at a fraction of the price. We will never go there again and will warn our friends about it.
