Spaghetti House (Goodge St)

I quite like Spaghetti House as a chain, but this branch doesn't score as high as the others I am afraid.

I came to this restaurant twice already and in both occasions I had a bad experience.

The downstairs area is dark and you are practically eating on someone else's lap. Upstairs it's not much better as they seem to put the large tables by the window, living small parties in the middle of the cramped room, just under the serving bar so you are constantly brushed by the passing waiters.

Food is very disappointing. I had the "authentic" Italian sausage as a main (the special of the day), but unfortunately, there was nothing authentic about that dish, I should know, being Italian myself! The sausage was really thick and sickly and for probably the first time in my life, I couldn't finish what I had in my plate!!!

My dinner companion had the seafood linguini. which was served in a metal pot. The pasta was of poor quality and the sauce was almost non-existent.

The dessert however was nice and well presented, the only redeeming aspect of an otherwise rather disappointing dinner. I won't be going back I'm afraid.

Gelupo

I have to agree with the previous review.

The gelato is good and the flavours are different and surprisingly tasty (I tried the ricotta dn honey and it was really smooth and silky), however prices are way too steep! I had two scoops and paid £4.50!!!

Had a quick look at the other food they have for sale and that also seemed like a proper rip-off. Will only go back when I win the lottery...
