Dean Street Townhouse

Having read good reviews, we booked a table for four people for lunch. On the morning of the booking, I was telephoned to confirm the reservation and, being honest, told them that there would only be three as one of the party was sick.

On our arrival we were shown to a very small table which was just large enough for two people, but laid up for three. It was on the walkway for customers and waiters and was not all suitable. We explained that we were not prepared to sit at such a table and was told that this was all there was - our original table was now given to someone else. We explained that we would not sit like this and they allowed us to leave, even though there were still empty tables.

I do not think this is the way for an expensive restaurant to behave. Let's hope they can be this independent one year from now.
