Devine Bar & Restaurant
With so many places to eat in The City, this new bar/restaurant needs to pull its socks up a bit. Three of us went there for a bite to eat and a bottle of wine on a Friday lunch. Prices are very reasonable here but for an overcast Friday lunchtime this place was really quite empty. The decor is bright and they have kitted it out well but lots of little things could make this place better. Unfortunately, the waitress' english was fairly poor and didn't understand the concept of tap water; The menu failed to mention that the mushrooms in the mushroom and cheese omelette had been cooked in garlic and the mixed leaf side salad was decidedly sad and more of a garnish than a side salad. The waitress staff were way too keen to get rid of us. Two of our party were still eating when they tried to clear one of the plates, something that really annoys me; and without even asking if we would like more wine, desert or coffee they brought us the bill. As there was not a huge queue waiting to sit I was unsure why they wished to get rid of us so quickly. All in all, could do better.
