We had our office Christmas dinner at Lamberts and it was a wonderful experience. I selected this restaurant because I had heard good things and I was very pleased that it lived up to expectations. We had the tasting menu and selected our own wines from a good list with the guidance of the staff.
The starters were potted goose with cranberry which was lovely and a cullen skink soup which was also tasty. The highlight for me was the main which was chargrilled rump with Oxtail cottage pie. The flavours of the pie were terrific. Dessert was a fondant with salted caramel icecream (yum!) and followed by a small plate of Neal Yard Cheese.
Everyone enjoyed the food thoroughly and the service was very good. We had a few late minute cancellations and late arrivals which I know can be quite annoying for the staff. The staff were however very professional and attentive without been overbearing.
Evidently I wholeheartedly recommend Lamberts and suggest you do yourself a favour and go for the full Monty. Every course was divine.
