China Silk
Simple - on Exmouth MArket you have many choices - make one sure choice however and AVOID this place.
It shall likely take me longer to tpye this review than it did for the last (and it shall be my last) meal to arrive from the kitched - I should have known then.
I specifically asked if the squid was fresh or frozen - they told me fresh - well the 'fresh' seafood hadn't quite managed to swim into the freezer before the wok as it was still cold and damp in the middle.
Disgusting and even took the time to return back and ask for a refund.
Don't go - please.

The Easton
You'll read the reviews below and have two minds about this place - so be clear:
GO for the great food and value for money (the wines are pretty decent also)
DON'T GO for the service (its just a pub - not pseudo gastro anything) or cleanliness of the toilets (apauling).
The Easton is a good pub, with excellent food and decent music - I go as this is just what I want when having a pie with mates on a cold Monday night or a roast with my partner on a sunny Sunday.

6 St Chad's Place
Style it definitely has - and if nothing else it is a wonderful place to sit on a sunny day and sip a glass of wine - however it has to be lamented that this is not the eaterie it once was.
The other reviewers are right - this place deserved and held an excellent reputation for good food at lunch (it only serves tapas style sharing plates in the evening) but the prices have jumped and the service is arrogant.
Still - it is still a great place to discover in the hell of Kings Cross eateries.

The Brill
Tried this out for lunch having grabbed a take away sandwich the week before (if you work in this area - note these are the freshest sandwiches around!).
My colleague chose their star turn of a roast lunch sandwich (with silly roast potato, yorkie and a single slice of parnsip on the side) was ok - nice tasty meat on a decent roll - but the stuff on the side let it down.
However, I scored better with a breaded pork fillet, with cheese and ham stuffing on a salad with warm caper dressing..... wonderful lunch fare.
Service is lacking (felt I was there on a training day) and we did have to wait a little longer than I would have liked - lunch needs to be quicker - but given the utter wasteland that is Kings Cross (St. Chads Place and Acorn being the only other alternatives) great and well needed new arrival.
